Imagine two friends Nick and Avi discussing this in a cafe.

1. Nick says, Coffee is the best. Tea is terrible.
 

2. Avi says, I prefer tea because it helps me relax, but I can understand why many people enjoy coffee.

Note- Opinion: A personal belief or view about something.

Both shared an opinion. But whose opinion would you be more willing to listen to?

That's where prepositions come in.

Let's first learn how to use prepositions correctly so our opinions sound clear and confident.

 

What are prepositions

Prepositions Prepositions are words that show the position, time, or direction of something in a sentence.

Prepositions

1. Prepositions of Place

Show where something is.

  1. in → inside something (in the room)

  2. on → on a surface (on the table)

  3. under → below something (under the bed)

Show when something happens.

  1. at → specific time (at 5 PM)

  2. in → months/years/periods (in June, in 2026)

  3. on → days/dates (on Monday)
