DIE ZWEI

ADIDAS

We imagine this film as a journey through shifting emotions: the grind of training, the intensity of effort, the unique world of each runner, all leading to the final vision—to be the fastest of all. An inner heartbeat sets the rhythm, a silent pulse guiding us. We love the idea of using different visual languages to capture these varied emotional states, exploring the spaces between, where we truly find ourselves.

Look & Feel

To succeed, the athletes must pass through a crucible of emotion, mental endurance, and physical strain, each step a test, each breath a challenge. We aim to capture this odyssey not only through their moments on the track, but in the quiet corners of their everyday lives, where running is not just something they do, but something they are—a state of mind, an undercurrent that flows through every aspect of their existence.

We will use close-up shots to reflect the effort and emotions etched into the skin of the athletes, combining slow-motion frame rates with explosive action to capture the rhythm of their steps, and seamless transitions to go from training to the day of competition.

Light will play its juxtaposed role—the soft, diffused glow of dawn caressing their faces with darkness of the pre-dawn hours. Sharp, contrasting beams will cut through the shadows, creating a visual tension that reflects the struggle and triumph of their journey.

In the end, the cinematography and look and feel must breathe and must pulse with life. It must be cinematic, yet deeply personal. An epic journey, a story told through a thousand fleeting moments.

MARATHON

For the marathon scenes, we envision experimenting with varying speeds to enhance the editing process and capture the different phases of the journey. We also believe it’s crucial to capture subtle details that add layers, such as shadows, reflections in glass, and even manipulating stock footage of the runner to create texture. Above all, to convey the essence of the marathon, we need a large group of runners to immerse the viewer in the experience. We might also use specific plates that can be duplicated in post-production. Additionally, we think it’s essential to play with sound effects in post-production to amplify these moments and create intense peaks in the race.

The final shot is the decisive moment of truth, the culmination of all the effort that has brought our athlete to this point. She stands at the starting line, surrounded by other competitors.

The camera, positioned at ground level, travels slowly along the starting line in slow motion. We see the Adidas shoes on various athletes' feet, capturing details like stretching, small jumps, rotating ankles, and muscles tensed and ready.

We cut between these moments and a traveling shot that moves in slow motion towards our athlete's eyes. We can sense the tension and nerves in the muscles of her face, along with a hint of joy and determination in her expression. She is ready. As the camera moves closer and closer to her face, she takes a deep breath. Cut.

TRANSITIONS

We like the idea of starting the video in an intimate setting, such as at home, and gradually pulling away from the scene. As the image moves away and crosses the viewer's field of vision, it transitions to a completely different scene where we see our protagonist running or training.

We are captivated by the idea of a universe where two worlds coexist: the tangible reality of a running shoe hitting the pavement in training or during a race, and the digital realm that merges with it, creating a single, unified world. A place where both realities intertwine, where even a single movement bridges the gap between them.

A close-up of the shoe's grip reveals the same movement repeating across different spaces, as if time and place have folded into one seamless moment.

Through constant movement around the runner, we can create different situations within the same space.

With a simple pan, we see the runner leap over the camera, and we continue to follow, as if drawn into his unbroken rhythm.

Jump cuts show the runner in different locations, yet he is always in sync with the same movement

EXPERIMENTAL

We believe that experimentation is crucial for this project to add depth and create intangible images, such as emotions and sensations. Our goal is to introduce an extra layer to represent these feelings in a more abstract way and achieve the depth we're aiming for.
