What Can You Do?

Eyes Off Eugene:

• Informal group forms in late June after comments at city council
• For the next six months, we:
  • met with city officials
  • raised public awareness
  • organized, went to events
  • collected more information
  • published that information
  • set up public communications channels
  • formed partnerships with other groups in our community
  • became an enormous pain in the ass
  • ...but also were reasonable people with specific "asks" at every step

Eyes Off Eugene:

• October 8, 2025
  • Eugene "pauses" operations with Flock
  • and Springfield has decided not to activate them
• December 5, 2025
  • Eugene terminates its contract with Flock
  • Springfield immediately follows
• Lane county terminates its contract shortly after
• Efforts have now spun off into Oregon Privacy Initiative, helping other groups
• Actively working with legislators to establish guardrails and better protect against abuses of this technology

You can Win This

• Get organized
• Show up
  • City council meetings
  • County commission meetings
  • other public events (town halls!)
• Meet with local officials
• Get more information
• Make friends!
• Spread awareness
• Ask for help
• ACLU of Oregon can help!

Thank you
